Rangpur: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Department of Public Administration of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) and Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the five-year term agreement was signed at the Rectors' Conference Room of BPATC in Savar of Dhaka district. The signing ceremony was announced through a BRUR press release. Head of the Department of Public Administration of BRUR, Muhammad Mujahidul Islam, and Member of the Board of Directors of BPATC, Joint Secretary Dr. Md Mohsin Ali, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
The event was attended by notable figures such as the Vice-chancellor (VC) of the university, Professor Dr. Md Showkat Ali, and the Rector of BPATC, Sayeed Mahbub Khan. Under this MoU, both institutions have agreed to engage in joint research activities, developmental training arrangements, faculty exchanges, and expert-level knowledge exchange activities.
Furthermore, the agreement provides an opportunity for final year honors and master's students of the Department of Public Administration at BRUR to participate in field attachment at BPATC annually. This initiative is aimed at providing students with direct hands-on experience in training activities and administrative management.
Speaking at the event, the VC emphasized the importance of skilled and professional manpower in building a self-reliant Bangladesh. He noted that through this MoU, students of the Public Administration Department will be able to engage directly with the country's top training institutions. Such exposure, alongside theoretical knowledge, will prepare students for successful careers by equipping them with experience in professional administrative activities, training methods, and field-level work.
He further remarked on the significance of this collaboration, stating that it serves as a bridge between industry and academia, marking a milestone in enhancing the quality of higher education. The MoU signing ceremony was also attended by Associate Professor of the Department of Public Administration Md Zubair Ibne Taher, Lecturers Afzal Hossain Shakil and AMM Mubashir Shah, along with other concerned individuals.
