Khulna: BNP-nominated "Sheaf of Paddy" candidate for Khulna-2 constituency and former lawmaker Nazrul Islam Manju today stated that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is a party of the people and it will always stand by them. He made these remarks while conducting electioneering and distributing leaflets in several areas of Sonadanga Ward No. 18, including Nasir Road, Sonar Bangla Road, Boubazar, and Nabinagar, starting from 10.00 am.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Manju highlighted that there are 3,31,279 voters in the Khulna-2 constituency, with 168,193 women and 163,076 men, noting the higher number of women voters. He emphasized that a country can never be rebuilt by demeaning women. He described the BNP as a united and popular party founded by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, led by Begum Khaleda Zia, and now under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, adding that the party has governed the country several times with a record of building a self-reliant Bangladesh.
Manju further stated that the BNP aims to rebuild Khulna with the participation of people from all walks of life, restore its lost glory, and build a drug-free and oppression-free city. At noon, he addressed an election views-exchange meeting with the Bangladesh Frozen Foods Association (Khulna region) as the chief guest and joined a doa mahfil seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia, the former three-time prime minister of the country. The meeting was chaired by Vice-President Kamrul Alam.
Later, Manju also carried out campaigning in the Shankha Market area, where BNP leaders and activists were present during the electioneering.
