Faridpur: BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today announced that if his party forms government with the supports of people in coming election Faridpur division will be created. Tarique Rahman said this while addressing a public rally at the Government Rajendra College ground in Faridpur this afternoon as part of his election tour.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BNP Chairman emphasized his party’s belief that all state power originates from the people and expressed the BNP’s readiness to assume responsibility for governing with this principle in mind. He addressed the persistent issue of river erosion affecting the Faridpur region, promising that a BNP-led government would implement effective measures to protect the Padma and other rivers from erosion.
The rally attracted leaders, activists, and supporters from various upazilas of Faridpur and neighboring districts, transforming the rally ground and surrounding areas into a sea of people. The district town buzzed with festivity during Tarique Rahman’s visit, with many attendees expressing that the massive turnout signals a public desire for change. They noted that such a large political gathering in Faridpur has not been seen in a long time and has injected new energy into the region.
Prominent figures including BNP central organising secretary (Faridpur division) Shama Obaid, Central Krishak Dal General Secretary Shahidul Islam Babul, Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal Joint Convener Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, Faridpur District BNP Convener Syed Modarres Ali Issa, and District BNP General Secretary AKM Kibria Swapan also addressed the event.
