Rajshahi: A month-long artificial intelligence (AI) training programme titled 'AI Navigator 2026' was inaugurated on Sunday at Rajshahi University (RU). The initiative aims to enhance AI skills among students and is expected to play a crucial role in shaping future leadership.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the programme is a collaborative effort between the university's Career Counseling and Development Center (CCDC) and the UK-based non-profit organisation Send a Little Hope. The inauguration ceremony took place at the RU Senate Building, marking the beginning of an educational journey for participants.
RU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Md Farid Uddin Khan attended the event as the chief guest, highlighting the significant role of AI skills in the future and expressing gratitude to Send a Little Hope-UK for their support. Mujahidul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of Send a Little Hope, joined as a special guest, providing an overview of the "AI Navigator 2026" programme to the attendees.
The event was presided over by Professor Md Nurul Momen, Director of the CCDC. It gathered a number of senior teachers, representatives of Send a Little Hope, and students from various departments of RU, all eager to engage with the programme.
Prior to the inauguration, a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the CCDC and Send a Little Hope to ensure the successful implementation of the programme, reflecting a committed partnership towards advancing AI education.
