Mymensingh: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Rtd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has stated that no one will be allowed to seize polling centers anywhere in the country.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Jahangir made this declaration during a meeting on law and order at the Mymensingh City Corporation conference room. He emphasized that no concessions will be granted to any party attempting to seize polling centers. The Home Adviser assured that security measures have been implemented nationwide to prevent any unauthorized control over polling booths.

He further highlighted that, to ensure a peaceful election, law enforcement officers will utilize body-worn cameras at polling stations, and all centers will be under CCTV surveillance. Additionally, drones and the Surakhya App will be deployed to enhance security efforts. Jahangir expressed confidence that these measures will facilitate a peaceful general election across the country.

Addressing a recent deadly clash in Jhenaigati, Sherpur district, Jahangir described the incident as regretful and mentioned that instructions have been issued to prevent such occurrences in the future. He dismissed concerns of potential target-attacks on journalists, asserting there is no such threat anywhere in the country.

The Home Adviser also noted that efforts to combat illegal firearms have been intensified, with significant progress in recovery operations.
