Dhaka: A total of 19 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, with no reported deaths during this period. The Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) and Control Room, under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) or the Ministry of Health, shared this information in a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the newly-admitted patients include two individuals hospitalized in the Barishal division (outside of the city corporation area), five in the Chattogram division, two in the Dhaka North City Corporation area, and five in the Dhaka South City Corporation area. Additionally, one patient was admitted in the Khulna division (outside of the city corporation area), two in the Mymensingh division (outside of the city corporation area), and two in the Rajshahi division (outside of the city corporation area) over the last 24 hours.
During the same timeframe, 24 dengue patients were discharged from various hospitals nationwide. This brings the total number of discharged dengue patients this year to 880. So far in the current year, there have been 1,000 reported dengue cases, with 63.2 percent of the patients being male and 36.8 percent female. Two deaths related to dengue have been reported this year.
In contrast, last year saw a total of 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths. In 2024, dengue affected 101,214 people and resulted in 575 deaths during the same period.
