Khulna: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman announced at a rally that his party intends to reopen shut down mills and factories, and establish new industries if elected to power. He emphasized that this initiative would be based on the mandate of the people and the will of Allah.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Dr Rahman expressed concerns over the decline in Khulna’s industrial and agricultural sectors, attributing the closure of several factories to flawed policies and looting by previous administrations. He addressed the youth, stating that his party aims to provide employment rather than unemployment allowances, seeking to restore their dignity and acknowledging their contributions to the July uprising.

The rally, which commenced at 2:00pm, witnessed the gathering of several thousand Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and workers at the Circuit House Ground. Dr Rahman voiced his worries about election-related violence and urged political parties to trust the people’s verdict. He called for the protection of voting rights and emphasized the importance of a ‘curse-free Bangladesh’ by February 13.
