Woman and Two Children Fatally Struck by Train in Gazipur

Gazipur: A tragic incident unfolded in Gazipur district on Monday when a woman and two young children were killed after being hit by a passenger train. The accident took place around 10:30 am at the Pubail Bazar-level crossing in the Pubail area. Witnesses and railway officials reported that an Akhaura-bound Titas commuter train struck the woman and children, resulting in their instant deaths.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the woman has been identified as Hafeza Khatun Mala, daughter of Mozammel Haque from Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur district. The identities of the two minors, believed to be her children and aged between five and six, have not yet been confirmed.



Md Musa, the stationmaster at Pubail Railway Station, indicated that initial evidence suggested the woman jumped in front of the train with the children. However, the authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.



Local residents found a voter identification card in a bag presumed to belong to the woman, police noted. As of now, no further details have been released, and officials are continuing to probe the motive behind the incident.
