EC to Meet Registered Political Parties Ahead of 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election

Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) is set to engage in a discussion meeting with registered political parties this afternoon in anticipation of the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and referendum scheduled for 2026. This meeting, which will focus on the ‘Postal Vote BD’ app, its functionalities, and related topics, is slated to take place at 4:00 pm at the EC headquarters in Agargaon.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, representatives from all 63 registered political parties are expected to attend the discussion. The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) M M Nasir Uddin, along with election Commissioners, the Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat, and other officials, will also be present at the meeting.

In a related development, Swedish Ambassador Nicolas Weeks is scheduled to meet with the CEC at 3:00 pm at the EC headquarters. The Commission noted that discussions will cover various important matters concerning the forthcoming national election.

Meanwhile, activities related to the withdrawal of nomination papers have been ongoing since morning at the Election Training Institute (ETI) building. The Commission has indicated that the total number of withdrawn nomination papers will be disclosed after 5:00 pm today.
