Kapilmuni: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) distributed relief items and blankets to poor and destitute families in Paikgachha upazila of southern Khulna, an area recently affected by cold weather and dense fog.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the relief distribution was led by Rashed Al Mail Al Jabi, Director for Foreign Assistance Affairs at the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Bangladesh. The event took place at the Kapilmuni Srirampur Zia Primary Health Care Centre premises on Sunday morning. Over 200 underprivileged families received food items and blankets during the distribution.
After distributing the relief items, Rashed Al Mail Al Jabi interacted with local residents and expressed satisfaction with the activities of the health care centre and a local madrasa. He also visited Taltala Jame Mosque and exchanged pleasantries with local devotees, assuring them that the UAE's assistance to Bangladesh would continue in the future.
The event was attended by notable figures such as Anwar Aldin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and Joint Editor of the Daily Ittefaq, social worker Khandaker Enamul Haque, Principal of Kapilmuni College Habibullah Bahar, and other local dignitaries.
Local residents expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for the relief provided, thanking Almighty Allah and the Government of the United Arab Emirates for their generous donation.
