Natore: Finance Ministry Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed on Friday asked government officials to be patient regarding the new pay scale. He emphasized that the pay scale has been prepared after 10 years and assured officials of its forthcoming implementation.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Dr. Ahmed explained that the pay scale involves numerous calculations, and a committee has been established to oversee its progress. “They are working. After the committee submits its report, the scale will be implemented,” he stated, highlighting that funding remains the primary concern but assured there is no reason for discouragement.
Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed made these remarks during an inspection of the Gurudaspur Upazila Mini Stadium in Natore. He was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Finance Secretary Dr. Sheikh Khairuzzaman Majumdar, Secretary of the Economic Relations Division Md. Shahriar Kader Siddiqui, and other senior officials during the visit.
In addition to his comments on the pay scale, the finance adviser urged everyone to vote in favor of the referendum. He pointed out that reforms in Bangladesh have historically been party-based rather than people-focused. Dr. Ahmed stressed, “Through referendum, the political government will gain strength in the future. That is why the government is speaking in favor of public voting.”
During his visit, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed also expressed praise for the mini stadium, while Natore Deputy Commissioner Asma Shahin briefed him about the facilities available at the venue.
