Dhaka: The government has officially declared the Family Appellate Court, Child Rape Prevention Tribunals, and Land Survey Appellate Tribunals as special courts. The announcement was formalized through a gazette issued by the Law Ministry on January 12, under the Special Courts (Additional Duties) Act, 2003.
According to United News of Bangladesh, these designated courts and tribunals will assume the role of District Judge Courts for handling civil cases and will be recognized as Special District Judge Courts. Concurrently, for criminal cases, they will be treated as Sessions Judge Courts and will be referred to as Special Sessions Judge Courts.
