BCSIR and Coppin State University Forge Partnership with MoU

Dhaka: Bangladesh Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Coppin State University, USA, at the meeting room of the Ministry of Science and Technology at Bangladesh Secretariat here today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the MoU outlines a collaborative framework that both parties will adhere to, in line with the prevailing laws, regulations, and national policies of their respective institutions and countries. The agreement identifies several key areas for cooperation, including joint research and development activities in mutually agreed fields such as biology and physics. Additionally, it facilitates the exchange of teachers, scientists, and research personnel for training, research, and higher education purposes. The MoU also emphasizes mutual participation in research projects and consultancy, alongside the development of programs centered on education and research activities.

The signing ceremony was marked by the presence of Dr Samina Ahmed, chairman of BCSIR, and Professor Dr Jamal Uddin, Director of the Center for Nanotechnology at Coppin State University, who signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions. The event was graced by Finance Secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder as the chief guest, with Science and Technology Secretary Md Anwar Hossain presiding over the proceedings. Officials of BCSIR were also in attendance to witness the agreement.

The MoU is set to remain effective for the next five years, with provisions for extension based on the written consent of both parties involved.
