Khulna: Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan emphasized the importance of collective responsibility to ensure that the upcoming national parliamentary election is conducted in a free, fair, impartial, and peaceful manner. He made these remarks while inaugurating a training workshop for the 26th batch at the Boyra police Lines, aimed at enhancing the skills and capacity of police personnel for election duties.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the KMP chief stressed that police members must remain vigilant to ensure voters can move freely to polling centers and cast their votes without fear or hindrance. He highlighted the need to prevent any form of irregularities, including fake voting, voter intimidation, or other untoward incidents during the election process.
With sincere efforts and cooperation from all stakeholders, he expressed optimism that Bangladesh Police would provide the nation with a credible and peaceful election. The workshop was attended by Deputy Police Commissioner M. M. Shakiluzzaman, recently promoted to the rank of Additional DIG, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Shamima Akter Sumi, Assistant Police Commissioner Sheikh Md. Abdur Razzak, along with the trainees.
The training is a part of ongoing preparations to strengthen the professionalism and operational readiness of police personnel ahead of the forthcoming national election.
