Yard Meetings on Referendum and Parliamentary Election Conducted in Morrelganj

Morrelganj: Separate yard meetings focused on the upcoming referendum and the 13th national parliamentary election scheduled for 2026 were convened this afternoon at two locations in Morrelganj upazila, namely the Model Mosque premises and the 90 Roshi Bus Stand area.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the District Information Office in Bagerhat organized these meetings to enhance public awareness about the democratic process and the responsibilities associated with voting. Morrelganj Upazila Executive Officer Md. Abdullah attended the events as the chief guest. During his address, he emphasized the significance of the referendum and national parliamentary elections as integral aspects of the nation’s democratic framework.



He stated that the government has implemented necessary measures to ensure the elections are conducted freely, fairly, and impartially. “The administration is working tirelessly so that voters can exercise their franchise smoothly and without any obstruction,” he remarked. The Upazila Executive Officer encouraged voters to proceed to polling stations without apprehension and advised them to stay vigilant against election-related rumors and misinformation.



Throughout the meetings, District Information Officer Muinul Islam along with other officials discussed the importance of the referendum and elections, detailed voting procedures, and highlighted the civic duties of citizens. The gatherings were attended by local public representatives, dignitaries, and individuals from various sectors of society, including both male and female voters.
