Dhaka: Election Commissioner Brig. Gen (retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah today emphasized the necessity for a collective commitment to ensure the upcoming parliamentary election, scheduled for February 12, is conducted fairly.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sanaullah stated that the elections should proceed without disruption and highlighted the importance of fulfilling responsibilities honestly and impartially. He assured that the election process would be transparent and underscored the need for adherence to the law during a view-exchange meeting organized by the Bandarban District Police on the Bandarban Police Lines premises.
Addressing officials, the Election Commissioner stressed the importance of performing duties with transparency, impartiality, and firmness, advising against partisanship and emphasizing the critical nature of firm action at this time.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini, Superintendent of Police Md. Abdur Rahman, Additional Superintendents of Police Md Farhad Sardar and Jinia Chakma, and District Election Officer Md. Kamrul Alam, among others.
Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah made a one-day visit to Bandarban, during which he engaged in a special exchange of views with police officers and attended a meeting of the Vigilance and Observation Team and Law Enforcement Cell at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, where he provided important instructions.
