Bogura: An autorickshaw driver was killed and a passenger seriously injured in a road accident in the Jhopgari Overbridge area of Sadar upazila on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Mamun, 38, son of Abdul Hamid of Chandu Para in Subgram union of the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 11:00 am when a truck collided with an autorickshaw from the opposite direction. The collision resulted in the immediate death of the autorickshaw driver, Mamun, and left passenger Mukter Ali, 40, injured.
Muktar Ali was promptly rescued and admitted to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for treatment. SI Shaheed of Bogura Highway Police confirmed the incident. Authorities have stated that the body of the deceased will be handed over to his family following the completion of legal formalities.
