BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul’s Nomination Declared Valid

Thakurgaon: The nomination of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir for the Thakurgaon-1 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election has been declared valid. District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Irshat Farzana confirmed the validity of the nomination after conducting scrutiny earlier in the day.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir submitted his nomination papers alongside Central Majlish-e-Shura member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former President of Islami Chhatrashibir, Delwar Hossain, as well as Islami Andolan Bangladesh Thakurgaon district unit vice-president, Khademul Islam. The returning officer declared all three nominations valid following verification.



Deputy Commissioner Irshat Farzana also reported that a total of 21 candidates submitted nomination papers across the three constituencies in Thakurgaon district. Thus far, the nomination of one candidate has been canceled, and three nominations have been suspended. She further stated that the scrutiny and verification process for the Thakurgaon-2 and Thakurgaon-3 constituencies is still ongoing.
