Russia Condoles Death of Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia

Dhaka: Russia today expressed condolences over the death of former Bangladesh prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, recalling her role in maintaining cordial bilateral relations. ‘The Embassy of Russia in Bangladesh was deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Bangladesh’s first female prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia,’ the Embassy of Russia in Bangladesh said in a condolence message.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the embassy added that Russia would remember her with gratitude for the cordial relations maintained with the country during her three tenures as the head of the Government. The embassy extended sincere condolences to her family, friends, and fellow party members.



Begum Khaleda Zia, who served as the prime minister of Bangladesh, was a prominent political figure and the first woman to hold the office in the country’s history. Her leadership and diplomatic efforts were recognized internationally, and she played a significant role in fostering Bangladesh’s foreign relations.
