Dhaka: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has scheduled an urgent meeting of its Standing Committee this afternoon at 12:00 pm in response to the death of its Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP Media Cell, confirmed that the meeting will be held at the party chief’s political office in Gulshan. This decision comes in light of the unexpected developments surrounding the death of the party’s leader.
Begum Khaleda Zia, who was the country’s first female Prime Minister and a long-serving Chairperson of the BNP, passed away early this morning at around 6:00 am. She was receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in the city.
