Chattogram: Leaders and activists of the Inqilab Moncho are currently protesting in Chattogram demanding the arrest and trial of those responsible for the murder of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, who was also an aspiring candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Polls. The protest began at 2 pm today at the Shah Amanat Bridge area on the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, positioned at the entrance of the Shah Amanat Bridge, the leaders and activists of the moncho chanted slogans calling for justice for the killers of Inqilab Moncho convener Sharif Osman Hadi. Slogans such as ‘I want justice for Hadi’s murder’, ‘Justice, justice, we want justice’, and ‘We will all be Hadi, we will fight for ages’ echoed during the protest.

Speakers expressed disappointment that the main suspected persons in the murder of Hadi were not arrested yet, weeks after the incident. To alleviate traffic congestion on the road, police are advising drivers to use alternative routes such as Kalurghat and tunnels. Chattogram Metropolitan Police DC (Traffic South) Mohammad Liaquat Ali Khan stated that efforts are being made to manage traffic flow effectively.

In a separate event, leaders and activists of Inqilab Moncho gathered in the New Market area of Chattogram on Saturday to demand justice for Hadi’s family.
