Munshiganj: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has nominated Sheikh Md Abdullah, Md Abdus Salam Azad, and Md Kamruzzaman Ratan to contest the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election in Munshiganj’s three constituencies. The nominations come as part of BNP’s strategic plans to solidify their presence and influence in the region.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sheikh Md Abdullah, a member of the district BNP convening committee, received the nomination paper for Munshiganj-1 (Sirajdikhan-Sreenagar). The nomination was signed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, demonstrating the party’s trust in Abdullah’s capability to represent the party in the upcoming elections.
In Munshiganj-2 (Louhjang-Tongibari), BNP Joint Secretary General Md Abdus Salam Azad has been chosen as the party’s candidate. Initially, former state minister for health and district BNP convener Mizanur Rahman Sinha was nominated for the seat. However, the decision was revised, and Azad will now be contesting the election, highlighting a shift in BNP’s strategy for this constituency.
For Munshiganj-3 (Sadar-Gazaria), BNP nominated Md Kamruzzaman Ratan, who is currently serving as the party’s social welfare affairs secretary and is a former district BNP member secretary. This nomination indicates BNP’s emphasis on leveraging experienced party members to strengthen their position in the national political landscape.
