Jahangirnagar: Admission tests for the ‘B’ Unit under the Faculty of Social Sciences and the ‘E’ Unit under the Faculty of Business Studies for the first-year honours (2025-2026 academic session) at Jahangirnagar University (JU) were held today. JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan visited the examination centres at the Faculties of Social Sciences and Business Studies this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Pro-VC (Academic) Professor Dr Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr Sohel Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr M Abdur Rab, acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Dr Md Shamsul Alam, acting Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Associate Professor Abu Sayef Md Muntaquimul Bari Chowdhuri, and Proctor Professor Dr A K M Rashidul Alam, among others, were present during the visits.
In the ‘B’ Unit, there were 163 seats available for male students and 163 seats for female students. A total of 8,801 male and 11,784 female candidates applied for this unit. The admission test for the Faculty of Social Sciences was conducted in three shifts from the morning.
For the ‘E’ Unit, there were 100 seats for male students and 100 seats for female students. A total of 5,929 male and 5,684 female candidates applied. The admission test for the Faculty of Business Studies was held in two shifts in the afternoon.
Admission tests for the ‘C-1’ Unit under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (Department of Drama and Dramatics and Department of Fine Arts) and the ‘D’ Unit under the Faculty of Biological Sciences are scheduled for tomorrow, December 23, 2025.
In the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, there are 32 seats available for male students and 32 seats for female students. A total of 1,569 male and 2,156 female candidates have applied. Meanwhile, in the Faculty of Biological Sciences, there are 155 seats for male students and 155 seats for female students, with 29,430 male and 40,793 female candidates applying.
