DMP Files 1,722 Cases Against Traffic Rule Violations in Dhaka

Dhaka: The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,722 cases against motor vehicles, owners, and drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP conducted these actions and collected fines on Sunday, December 21, as part of their regular operations targeting traffic rule violators.



A media release from the DMP highlighted that a total of 262 motor vehicles were dumped, and 108 vehicles were towed due to non-compliance with driving regulations, as stated by Talebur Rahman, the deputy commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP. The breakdown of cases filed includes 229 cases from the Motijheel traffic division, 122 from Wari, 204 from Tejgaon, 163 from Mirpur, 443 from Gulshan, 346 from Uttara, 93 from Ramna, and 122 from Lalbagh divisions. The cases were filed against various motor vehicles, including three-wheelers and motorcycles.



The release further mentioned that the enforcement drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets. It emphasized that the DMP is committed to streamlining the traffic system in the capital to facilitate easier movement for city dwellers.
