Khulna: BNP Information Affairs Secretary and party candidate for Khulna-4 constituency Azizul Bari Helal today stated that despite imprisonment, repression, and conspiracies, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia continues to remain a symbol of democracy in Bangladesh. He made these remarks at a doa mahfil held at Terokhada Upazila of the district, seeking Khaleda Zia’s recovery.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, earlier in the day, Helal attended a views-exchange meeting with women at Chagladahi Dhankhali in Terokhada, where he urged people to pray for Khaleda Zia’s early recovery. He noted that people across the country have been offering prayers for her recovery, and added that individuals from different parts of the world are also praying for her health.

In the evening, Helal participated in separate views-exchange meetings with members of the Hindu community in Karalia and attended a waz mahfil at Ichamati as the chief guest. Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies were present on the occasion.
