Paint Labourer Electrocuted to Death While Working in Gaibandha

Gaibandha: A paint labourer died from electrocution while painting iron rods on the rooftop of a house at College Para in the town on Thursday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Rakib Miah, son of Mahabub Hossain, a resident of Purba Komornoi area under Sadar upazila of the district.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police reported that Rakib, along with several other paint labourers, was painting iron rods at the house of Sohel Rana at College Para. During the work, Rakib climbed onto the rooftop to continue painting and accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire, resulting in immediate electrocution. He died on the spot.

Upon receiving information, members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence promptly arrived at the location and recovered the body. Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station, Shahinur Islam Talukdar, stated that since there was no complaint from the victim's family, the body was handed over to his relatives.
