Rajshahi: Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid has stated that there is no challenge pertaining to the upcoming parliamentary election in the division. "We want to hold a peaceful, proper, and fair election. We don't want any deviation in it," he communicated to journalists.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Bazlur Rashid made these remarks after a coordination meeting with all stakeholders of the election and referendum 2026 at Circuit House on Wednesday afternoon. The meeting was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr Muhammad Shahjahan, Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Dr Zillur Rahman, BGB Sector Commander Col Syed Kamal Hossain, and Director of Ansar-VDP Shafiqul Islam, among others.
Commissioner Dr Bazlur Rashid emphasized that the current focus is on strengthening coordination. "We will work as per the direction given by the Election Commission and government," he stated. He also mentioned that legal action would be taken against those found guilty of influencing the election.
