Three Fatalities and Two Injuries in Separate Road Accidents in Dinajpur

Dinajpur: Three people were killed and two injured in separate road accidents in Dinajpur on Wednesday night. The deceased were identified as Anisur Rahman, 55, Tarini Barman, 35, and his wife Iti Barman, 28.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Anisur, a local Jamaat leader, was killed instantly when a speeding truck collided with his motorcycle from behind around 10:30 pm near Laxmitola Bazar on the Dinajpur-Phulbari regional highway. Two pedestrians sustained injuries in the incident and were admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. The police have seized the truck, but the driver and helper managed to flee the scene.

Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station's Officer-in-Charge Inspector Md Nurun Nabi confirmed the death of Anisur. In another tragic incident, motorcycle rider Tarini and his wife Iti were involved in a head-on collision with a tractor around 9:00 pm at Komorpur Bottola More on the Dinajpur-Panchagarh highway in Birganj upazila. Tarini was declared dead at the scene, while Iti succumbed to her injuries later at Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge Inspector Md Saiful Islam of Birganj Police Station confirmed the fatalities of the couple. Legal proceedings are currently underway concerning both accidents.
