Rangpur: Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farzana has emphasized the significance of officials possessing a thorough understanding of laws and regulations to protect government interests and effectively manage legal cases. "There is no alternative to following the correct law in official work to build a disciplined society and efficient administration to establish justice," she stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahbuba Farzana made these remarks while virtually participating as the chief guest in a training workshop titled 'Laws and regulations helpful in handling cases, SF writing techniques and to-do'. The event was organized by the Rangpur district administration and held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room.
Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan, who addressed the event as a special guest, highlighted the necessity for government officials to have a clear understanding of the law. Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Dr Mohammad Altaf-ul-Alam, Law Officer (District Judge) Md Masud Parvez, Joint Secretary Dr Md Alam Mostafa, and Deputy Secretary Sharmin Sultana served as resource persons, conducting various sessions during the workshop.
The resource persons elaborated on responses to government cases, the intricacies of creating SF (Statement of Facts), and relevant laws. The chief guest stressed the importance of maintaining close communication with lawyers and being meticulous in presenting accurate information, evidence, and arguments. She noted that a proper understanding of necessary rules and laws would facilitate justice and fairness for both plaintiffs and defendants.
Mahbuba Farzana urged attendees to apply the knowledge gained from the training to uphold justice and reinforce the government's adherence to the law. Deputy Commissioner Enamul Ahsan reiterated the importance of handling cases through correct legal processes to protect government property and avoid prolonged legal complications. He encouraged the trainees to skillfully implement their newfound knowledge in their professional roles.
The workshop saw the participation of twenty-five officials and employees from the Department of Information, Department of Mass Communication, Bangladesh Betar, and Bangladesh Television, all working in the Rangpur division.
