IU Distributes Smart ID Card Among Students in Kushtia

Kushtia: Islamic University (IU) administration in Kushtia today distributed a second slot of smart ID cards for students under the 2024-25 academic session. University ICT cell handed over the cards to the respective department chairmen after an official program held at the virtual room of the ICT cell.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the distribution ceremony was attended by various student leaders including Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal convener Shahed Ahammed, member secretary Masud Rumi Mithun, Islami Chhatra Shibir president Mahmudul Hasan, and Students Against Discrimination coordinator SM Sweet. The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Shariful Islam, Additional Director of the ICT cell.



During the ceremony, Nazmus Shahadat, Managing Director of the smart ID card provider company ‘E-Business Soft Solution Limited’, briefed attendees on the procedures and challenges faced during data collection. Professor Dr. Md. Shariful Islam highlighted issues contributing to delays in card production, noting that incorrect data was frequently submitted by students, including unsuitable photographs. He expressed optimism that once smart card readers are installed at the medical center, library, and halls, students will be able to access all services using the smart ID cards.
