Lalbagh: Firefighters have brought the fire under control that broke out this afternoon at a plastic factory in Chairmanghat area of Islambagh at Lalbagh here in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, eleven firefighting engines contained the blaze at 4 pm today following two and a half hours of intense efforts, Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) media officer Anwarul Islam confirmed.
Firefighting teams arrived at the spot within 20 minutes after receiving the news of the fire at 1:30 pm today and promptly dispatched rescue units to the scene and immediately began operations to control the blaze.
No casualty was reported in the fire.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage were not immediately known.
