Dhaka: Officials engaged in electoral duties for the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum are required to register for postal voting through the 'Postal Vote BD' app between December 18 and 25. This announcement was made in a statement from the Election Commission (EC) today, as conveyed by Salim Ahmad Khan, Team Leader of the Out of Country Voting System and Implementation (OCV-SDI) project to BSS.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the EC's statement emphasized the necessity for those involved in election duties to complete their registration via the app within the specified period. Additionally, the Commission has directed voters in legal custody to register through the same app between December 21 and 24.
The EC has further advised voters to ensure that they provide the correct address as per the country's prevailing rules when registering on the 'Postal Vote BD' app to receive their postal ballots. The statement highlighted the importance of supplying an accurate and complete address, whether it be of the workplace or an acquaintance, to facilitate the delivery of the postal ballot papers.
