Dhaka: Brigadier General (Retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam has been appointed as the ‘Chief Security Officer’ to oversee the overall security of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the appointment was confirmed through a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. This strategic appointment is intended to enhance the security framework for the prominent political figures within the party.
