Rangpur Observes Martyred Intellectuals Day with Solemn Homage

Rangpur: The people of Rangpur today observed Martyred Intellectuals Day-2025 with due solemnity and respect, paying homage to the martyred intellectuals, the nation's finest sons, in Rangpur city and across the district.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the administration and various social organizations marked the day by placing wreaths at the Liberation War Memorial adjacent to Rangpur Town Hall Baddhyabhumi at around 9:30 am. Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam led the tributes, accompanied by senior officials of the divisional administration.

Following the initial tributes, Rangpur City Corporation Administrator, Rangpur Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bangladesh Police, Rangpur Metropolitan Police, district administration, and district police administration, along with various social organizations, also paid homage.

Rangpur City Corporation Administrator Md Ashraful Islam, Rangpur Range DIG Aminul Islam, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan, Superintendent of Police Md Marufat Hussaine, and Muktijoddha Sangsad District Unit Commander Bir Muktijoddha Md Ansar Ali were among those who placed wreaths to honor the martyrs.

Additionally, the Muktijoddha Santan Command Unit, Fire Service and Civil Defence, government and private offices, and different social, cultural, and professional organizations commemorated the day by placing wreaths at the memorial.
