Dhaka: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has announced a substantial cash reward of Tk 50 lakh for any information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible for the attack on Inqilab Manch spokesperson Osman Hadi. The announcement was made during a briefing with journalists following a Core Committee meeting on law and order at the Home Ministry in the Bangladesh Secretariat.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser emphasized the urgency and importance of bringing the perpetrators to justice, describing the attack as an attempt to disrupt the national election process. He assured that those involved would be swiftly prosecuted and that no one would be exempt from legal action.
Additionally, the Adviser highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of frontline July warriors. He mentioned that a dedicated committee has been established to strategize on the provision of security for these individuals, underscoring the government’s prioritization of their protection.
Osman Hadi suffered serious injuries after being attacked by motorcycle-riding assailants in the Bijoynagar Box Culvert area of the capital on Friday. He is currently receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
