Manikganj: Abahani Limited Dhaka registered their second win in the Bangladesh Football League by defeating Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club 5-0 at Shaheed Miraj-Tapan Stadium in Manikganj today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abahani dominated the one-sided match, leading the first half with a 3-0 advantage. Malian forward Souleymane Diabate was instrumental in the victory, putting Abahani ahead with a goal in the 32nd minute and doubling the lead with another in the 41st minute. Mirajul Islam added to the tally with a third goal just before halftime in the 44th minute.
In the second half, Abahani’s control of the game continued. Midfielder Sheikh Morsalin scored the fourth goal in the 79th minute, and forward Al Amin completed the scoring spree with a fifth goal in the 86th minute. Fakirerpool struggled to match Abahani’s performance and remained scoreless throughout the match.
With this victory, Abahani Limited now has eight points from six matches, while Fakirerpool remains at five points from the same number of games. Abahani is set to face PWD Sports Club in their next match, while Fakirerpool will compete against Fortis Football Club on December 19 and 20, respectively.
