Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar today expressed deep concern and outrage over the attempted assassination of Sharif Osman Hadi, a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency and spokesperson of Inqilab Manch. The shooting has raised alarms about the security situation just a day after the national election schedule was announced.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mia Golam Parwar's statement highlighted the attack on a prominent activist and parliamentary candidate as a worrying development. He urged law enforcement agencies to promptly identify and apprehend the attackers, emphasizing the need for immediate review of CCTV footage from the scene.

Mia Golam Parwar also called for effective measures to ensure the safety of all candidates, political activists, and the general public during the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election. He questioned whether this attack was part of a larger conspiracy orchestrated by "fallen fascist forces" aiming to disrupt the electoral process.

Further, Parwar pointed to Osman Hadi's claims of receiving death threats from 30 foreign numbers, along with threats against his family. He criticized the administration for failing to protect Hadi, stating that this negligence reflects poorly on the country's ability to safeguard its citizens and maintain a peaceful political environment.

Expressing his wishes for Hadi's speedy recovery, Mia Golam Parwar urged the government to prioritize the investigation, arrest the perpetrators swiftly, and ensure they face exemplary punishment.
