Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today stated that his party will neither engage in corruption nor permit it in any form, while setting forth essential conditions for Jamaat's involvement in a national government if entrusted with the responsibility to serve the nation.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Shafiqur Rahman, during a views-exchange meeting with notable residents of Purba Kafrul under the Dhaka-15 constituency, emphasized that Jamaat will join the national government only under certain conditions. These include the absence of corruption, non-interference in the judiciary, and governance being conducted in line with the July Charter.

He further mentioned that Jamaat is willing to form a national government with all political stakeholders, even those who have indicated intentions of forming a government excluding Jamaat. However, he stressed that meeting these conditions is crucial for any joint efforts.

Dr Shafiqur highlighted that only those who agree to these conditions will be considered for participation in the national government envisioned by Jamaat. The meeting also saw the presence of Dhaka North Jamaat Nayeeb-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, Assistant Secretary Dr Fakhruddin Manik, and other party leaders.
