Jamalpur: The International Anti-Corruption Day was observed in Jamalpur through a series of programs hosted by the district. The observance in 2025 carried the slogan “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity.”
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the District Administration, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), District Corruption Prevention Committee (DCPC), and Conscious Citizen Committee (CCC) organized activities which included the hoisting of the national flag, a rally, and a discussion meeting. These events marked the significance of the day in the district.
The discussion meeting took place in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner, chaired by the Deputy Director of ACC, Md Abu Syeed. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Yusuf Ali, addressing the meeting as the chief guest, stressed the importance of instilling honesty and integrity in the younger generation. He highlighted that individuals who embody these values are consistently remembered and respected in society.
Other speakers included Chief Executive Officer Sarkar Abdullah Al Mamun Babu, Additional Superintendent of Police Yahia Al Mamun, President of District CCC Shamima Khan, Secretary of DCPC Zahangir Selim, and President of Jamalpur Press Club Md Mukhlesur Rahman. Their speeches focused on the role of youth in combating corruption and fostering a culture of transparency.
The day’s events commenced with Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Yusuf Ali inaugurating the program by releasing balloons at the ACC district office premises. A rally, led by the Deputy Commissioner, traversed the main roads of Jamalpur, culminating at the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises.
