Rangamati: BNP nominated candidate for Rangamati parliamentary constituency-299 and BNP national executive committee assistant secretary for religious affairs, Advocate Dipen Dewan, stated that BNP believes in the coexistence of all communities. 'If BNP comes to power in the next parliamentary elections, we all will work together to ensure coexistence of all communities in the hills and protect their rights,' he emphasized.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dewan made these remarks as the chief guest at a gathering organized to offer prayers for the recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The event, which also included a view-exchange meeting, was arranged in support of the BNP candidate by Rangamati Barua Janokallyan Sangstha in the afternoon.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Supriyo Barua, an adviser to the Rangamati Barua community and former civil surgeon of Rangamati. Attendees included Sanad Barua, a retired headmaster of Rani Dayamoyi High School; District BNP President Dipan Talukder Dipu; General Secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun; Vice-President Advocate Saiful Islam Panir; and District Krishak Dal President Alok Priyo Barua Rintu.
During his speech, Dewan praised the Barua community for their talent and smartness, encouraging them to progress with their abilities. He assured that, if elected, he would advance with all ethnic communities and urged everyone to support BNP in the forthcoming elections.
Sanad Barua highlighted the small size of the Barua community in Rangamati, noting the infrastructural developments at their Buddhist monastery during the BNP era. 'So this time, I hope the people will definitely vote after seeing the candidate,' he remarked.
The event concluded with special prayers held at the monastery for the swift recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia.
