Two Fugitives Arrested in Separate Raids in Gazipur and Jashore

Gazipur: Members of RAB-6, CPC-3, Jashore conducted two successful operations on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of two fugitives linked to sensational murder cases under Abhaynagar and Kotwali Model police stations in Jashore.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Saiful Fakir, aged 22, was apprehended in the first operation. He was one of the primary suspects in the shooting of Shamim Sheikh in Abhaynagar, Jashore. Saiful had been evading capture by hiding near the NM Engineering Works area, close to Joydebpur in the Tongi East Police Station area under Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP).

Acting on gathered intelligence, a joint team from RAB-6 CPC-3 and RAB-1 CPSRC launched a tactical operation at 8:20 pm, successfully capturing Saiful Fakir. After his arrest, he was transferred to Bason Police Station under GMP for further legal procedures.

In a subsequent operation later that night, another team from RAB-6, CPC-3, Jashore targeted a second fugitive linked to the 2012 murder of Akash, 18. The intelligence pointed to the fugitive's presence near the railway station under Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station.

Responding to this information, RAB officers conducted a raid at Rupsha Hotel, adjacent to Jashore Railway Station, at approximately 8:40 pm. They arrested the fugitive, identified as Md. Alamin, the son of Ismail Hossain Khokon from Taltala of Kotwali Model Police Station, Jashore. He was subsequently handed over to Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station to face legal charges.
