Jhenaidah: Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman today asserted that the perpetrators behind the murder of three-year-old Saima Khatun Saba will be swiftly brought to justice, emphasizing that any attempts to mislead the investigation will face strict consequences. Speaking to Saba's family at the Jhenaidah Circuit House, he assured them of a thorough and transparent judicial process.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Attorney General made it clear that individuals who try to divert the investigation or hinder the prosecution process will be held accountable under the law. He reiterated the commitment to a lawful judicial system, highlighting the absence of crossfire incidents since the July Uprising and the cessation of enforced disappearances and false case filings.
Saba, the daughter of van-puller Saidul Islam from the Pabhati area in Jhenaidah town, was reported missing on Wednesday morning. Her body was later discovered at the residence of a neighbor, Santona Khatun, around 9pm. Police have since arrested Santona Khatun in connection with the murder.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Al Masud, Local Government Division Deputy Director Rathindra Nath Roy, District Council Administrator Selim Reza, Jhenaidah BNP President Advocate MA Majid, General Secretary Zahiduzzaman Mona, and Jhenaidah Press Club President Asif Kajal, among others.
