Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 16.8 percent, reaching US$13,149 million during the July to December 1 period of the current fiscal year (FY26), according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank issued here today. The amount was $11,261 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year 2024-25.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the first day of December, expatriate Bangladeshis sent around $110 million in remittances. The data highlights the significant contribution of overseas Bangladeshis to the national economy through their remittances.
