Victory Rally Held at Dhaka University to Celebrate Great Victory Day

Dhaka: A colorful victory rally was held on the Dhaka University (DU) campus today to celebrate the great Victory Day. DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan led the rally, which commenced from Aparajeyo Bangla at 9 am, traversed various streets of the campus, and concluded at Smriti Chirantan Chattar. Earlier, teachers, students, officials, and employees convened at the foot of Aparajeyo Bangla at 8:45 am.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event saw participation from a wide array of university authorities including Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, and Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed. Acting Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, DUCSU General Secretary SM Farhad, alongside members of the senate and syndicate, deans of various faculties, departmental chairmen, institute directors, provosts, and numerous teachers, officials, and employees also took part in the rally.

The program culminated with performances of patriotic songs themed on the Liberation War and Victory Day, managed by the university's Music Department at Smriti Chirantan Chattar. At the close of the rally, VC Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan remarked on the significance of December as a unique milestone in the nation's identity. He highlighted the historical victory achieved in December 1971 and paid homage to the martyred intellectuals of December 14, acknowledging their sacrifice in fortifying the nation's independence.

Dr. Khan further expressed that the nation consistently unites in times of need, transcending differences in race, religion, or caste to stand together during national crises. He conveyed his hopes that the spirit of unity would be further reinforced during this month of victory.
