Dhaka: Special prayers including Doa Mahfil, Milad, and Khatme Quran have been offered across the country seeking the early recovery of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The prayers were held at mosques, temples, social organizations, and different places of worship.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in Dinajpur, prayers were offered at the Bandhan Community Center around 10:30 pm, conducted by district BNP president Advocate Md. Mofazzal Hossain Dulal. In Habiganj, a Milad Mahfil and food distribution program took place at the Habiganj Orphanage with Central BNP Organizing Secretary Alhaj GK Gaus as the chief guest.
In Shirajganj, recitation of Fatiha and Darood Sharif, along with special prayers, were offered seeking Begum Khaleda Zia's quick recovery and the nation's wellbeing, with BNP Standing Committee member and former minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku in attendance. In Jhenaidah, the district BNP arranged a special Doa and Milad at the district party office in the evening, focusing on the recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia.
In Nilphamari, prayers were conducted at the district BNP office for a swift recovery of Begum Zia. At Dhaka University, the authorities offered special prayers for Khaleda Zia's speedy recovery after Zuhr prayers at the university's Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Mosque. Similarly, at Islami Arabic University, the administration conducted special prayers at the central Mosque.
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) also participated by offering special prayers, including Munajat and Doa, for Begum Khaleda Zia's wellbeing. The Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council organized a special prayer session at the Dhakeshwari National Temple premises.
Agrani Bank PLC's Zia Parishad held prayers for Begum Khaleda Zia's recovery and good health at their head office. A Milad Mahfil was also held at Baitul Aqsa Mosque in Segunbagicha by a JCD leader, seeking the wellbeing of Begum Zia. Additional prayers were held in various districts and upazilas, including Sylhet, Cumilla, Patuakhali, Nandail, Vandaria, and Shoilakupa.
