Professionalism Key to a Thriving Academic Institution: KUET VC

Khulna: Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Maksud Helali today underscored that discipline forms the foundation of any successful institution. He made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at a daylong basic training programme titled "Service Rules, Discipline and Code of Conduct for Grade-10 Officers," emphasizing the importance of professionalism in creating a dynamic academic environment.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the training event was organized by the university's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and took place at the administrative building's conference room. IQAC Director Prof. Dr. Md. Hasanuzzaman presided over the event, while IQAC Additional Director Dr. Md. Nur Kutubul Alam conducted the main session.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted that the training aims to provide officers with a clear understanding of institutional rules, responsibilities, and work ethics. He urged KUET officers to diligently carry out their duties, guided by a comprehensive understanding of relevant regulations and procedures.

Expressing optimism, the VC noted that the programme is expected to enhance participants' knowledge and professionalism, thereby contributing to the university's growth and international progress. The programme featured detailed discussions on key components of Bangladesh's public service system, including KUET's autonomous statutes, discipline and appeal rules, and leave regulations for officers and employees.

The training also included two technical sessions led by resource persons Prof. Dr. Md. Nurunnabi Molla of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department and Prof. Dr. Md. Hasanuzzaman of the Mathematics Department.
