Dhaka: A total of 173,136 cases have been resolved through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at the Legal Aid office under the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO). This development marks a significant achievement for the organization, which has been actively working to provide legal assistance to those in need.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this information was revealed in a report published on the NLASO website. The report offers a detailed account of the legal assistance provided by the legal aid program from 2009 until October 2025. It highlights the organization's efforts in initiating ADR in a total of 195,470 cases, resulting in the settlement of cases for 337,671 beneficiaries.
The report further indicates that legal services were extended to 1,330,161 individuals at government expense during the same period. These services encompassed the highest court, the High Court, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, all lower courts, labor courts, and indigent prisoners. The services are rendered under the 'Legal Aid Act,' aiming to support financially indigent and legally incompetent individuals seeking justice.
The National Legal Aid Organization operates under the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, reflecting its commitment to facilitating access to justice for all citizens.
