Dhaka: A team from Dhaka University (DU) has visited the Uttara residential area as an alternative accommodation for students during the construction of new residential halls and renovation of existing halls. The team assessed the potential facilities, security, transportation, and infrastructure of the area to determine its suitability as temporary housing for students.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the university administration is committed to ensuring safe and suitable accommodation for students. An overall evaluation of the inspected facilities will inform the final decision regarding the use of Uttara as an alternative housing option.
The team included DU Treasurer Professor Dr. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Secretary of the Bridge Division and Executive Director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority Mohammad Abdur Rouf, Retired Secretary (Technical and Madrasa Education Division) Dr. KM Kabirul Islam, Dhaka University Accounts Director Mohammad Saiful Islam, Acting Chief Engineer Kazi Md Akram Hossain, Acting Estate Manager Fatema Binte Mustafa, Transport Manager Md Kamrul Hasan, DUCSU VP Sadiq Kayem, AGS Mohiuddin Khan, and Student Transport Secretary Asif Abdullah.
