Dinajpur: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today urged the people of Dinajpur to extend their support to BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia during the forthcoming national election. He appealed to the residents to ensure her victory to facilitate the development of the northern region.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Fakhrul made this appeal while speaking as the chief guest at an election street meeting organized by the Upazila BNP at Ranirbandar Suihari Bazar in Chirirbandar Upazila, which falls under the Dinajpur-4 constituency. Fakhrul expressed concerns over a certain party attempting to create chaos in the country, accusing them of threatening genocide if the national election and a referendum occur simultaneously. He referenced the party's alleged involvement in the 1971 genocide and cautioned against allowing them to commit further atrocities.
Fakhrul emphasized the importance of bringing the BNP to power by voting for the party's 'Dhaner Shis' symbol, aiming to accelerate national development activities. He called on voters to ensure the victory of the popular leader Akhtaruzzaman Mia in the Dinajpur-4 constituency by casting their votes for the 'Dhaner Shis'.
The street meeting was presided over by Alhaj Md. Akhtaruzzaman Mia, a former MP from the Dinajpur-4 constituency and a member of the BNP's Central Executive Committee.
