Kabul: Pakistan's military has firmly denied accusations from the Taliban government that it carried out an airstrike on Afghan territory, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of 10 people near the border.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the denial came on Tuesday when army spokesman Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed the issue through Pakistan's state broadcaster, PTV. He stated, "Pakistan has not attacked Afghanistan," and described the allegations made by the interim Afghan government as "baseless."
The accusations have caused a stir in the region, with the Taliban government in Afghanistan alleging that the overnight air raid was conducted by Pakistan's military. However, the Pakistani military's public response seeks to dispel these claims and emphasize their stance on not engaging in such military actions against Afghanistan.
The situation remains tense as both nations navigate the delicate diplomatic relations, especially concerning border security and mutual accusations of territorial violations.
